A wish of a child can do incredible things in their life, for them and for family close to them.  Check out the organizations below for some places to start your wish journey.

The Make A Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  They have a national office and eight regional chapters that grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 350,000 children since 1980.

Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest and only all-Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children’s Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to nearly 25,000 children and their families – that’s three wishes each and every day, all year long!

The Rainbow Society of Alberta is the only wish-granting organization dedicated solely to Alberta children with a life-threatening or severe chronic medical illness.  We define chronic as a medical condition that severely impacts the child’s activities of daily living. The impact and restrictions that may result from a variety of factors including, but not limited to, recurrent hospital stays, use of oxygen and/or ventilator machines, high doses of medications, or the need for a considerable degree of medical intervention. The Rainbow Society is an essential resource for chronically ill children who do not qualify for a wish under other programs.

Dreams Take Flight is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing the trip of a lifetime to medically, mentally, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children.  With the aid of Air Canada, other national and local organizations and businesses, money is raised to make the dream a reality in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.  Funds not required for its primary purpose can be gifted by Dreams Take Flight to other registered charities that benefit physically, mentally or socially challenged children and are within the policies adopted by Dreams Take Flight Canada.

Sunshine Dream Programs are once-in-a-lifetime experiences for kids that ignite a sense of newfound independence, build confidence, and create joyful memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. By having their dreams come true, kids are inspired to keep dreaming, are willing to try new things, and have a more positive outlook on life.
