The idea of Tuff Sprout began with a dream to create a future I envisioned for my daughter. As parents, we think about every aspect of our child’s lives on a daily basis. From their daily activities, to the future they will have. Each and every story is different because every kid is different, and our experiences are different, but our common ground is the love we have for our children. It is this love that drives us and encourages us to do more.
So what is Tuff Sprout?
We are a new kind of retail brand with a purpose.
We hope to build a community. We see it consisting of the kids, parents, healthcare professionals, development specialists, researchers, and whoever else that wants to support our mission. This blog will serve as a sounding board for what Tuff Sprout is doing and to bring awareness to our cause even further. Guest contributors will be encouraged to participate in the blog and share their unique experience. It will be a place where medical professionals can write short summaries of their research, experiences, and involvement in our communities.
One of the most special parts of what we hope to accomplish is to tell the stories of the brave kiddos out there. I know that in my own personal journey, Hayden has taught me more than I ever thought possible. She has given me answers to many of life’s many questions and shown me how I can be a better dad. The Stories page is meant to honor the children out there and show the world the things we can learn from them. They are warriors. They are superheroes. They are teachers. Through their stories we can see their resilience and courage and learn a little about who they are.
Our plan is to use the products we create to spread our mission. The intent will be to create high quality products that you can feel good about buying. We don’t just want to sell you a product because of the design or the quality, but more importantly, we want you to learn about our mission, and help support our cause.
What kinds of products will we make?
Muslin Blankets are the first to come, among many other muslin and textile products. A children’s book is on its way as well as some really cool products to help make your life a little easier. We have a grand plan of creating many different types of products that will help spread our mission. Through all the sales we are excited to be able to donate some of our profits to organizations that do so much for our kids. Once the Tuff Sprout brand picks up steam, we will not slow down. Stay tuned, we’re going to have a lot of fun.
We want to help fund organizations that are involved with the care, support, understanding, and treatment of kids facing extraordinary circumstances. We will dedicate a percentage of all product net sales for the purpose of redistribution to organizations. The first priority will be to provide funds and support children’s hospitals. We want to help provide the children and their families with the best of care. The second priority is to fund and support organizations that aim to improve the life of individuals with specific needs. Thirdly, we want to have the ability to be able to fund potentially groundbreaking research into treatment of conditions to hopefully accelerate the discovery of cures and beneficial treatments. We also aim to support, through active promotion and collaboration, social entrepreneurs and influencers with a mission similar to ours.
We want Tuff Sprout to be a symbol of the true strength that kids facing extraordinary circumstances possess. When the general population hears about the brand, not only do I want them to think about the great products we make, but more importantly about the strength, courage, and love of the kids the brand represents. I want Tuff Sprout to help change our perception of kids with all kinds of conditions. I want to promote a more inclusive society for the children of all abilities and conditions. As a father of a wonderfully beautiful girl that has been misunderstood already in her life, I hope to create change to the misunderstanding that comes from being different.
Thanks again for reading. I appreciate your support.
